Ideas to Help You Remember Your Past Lives
Thursday, July 2, 2009 11:08Do you know there are many more individuals who do believe in reincarnation than there are that do not? For some it is a way of life as in the instance of Buddhists and Hindus, as part of their religious beliefs. While many may be merely curious or looking to explore answers to some of the mysteries of life, many others may consider that it just makes the most sense when considering past lives. There are various ways to find out more about your past lives.
Maintain a Diary or Journal of Experiences
The way to successfully discover facts about your past lives is to write down your experiences in some kind of a journal. Describe in words things that take place and that happen, even when you think they are of little or of no significance. Make a note of your feelings as different emotions are more often than not the strongest clues we may get relating to past lives. You may find that all the notes you have taken are relevant to your past lives and fit together to make a bigger picture at some time in the future.
Throughout your daily routine keep an eye out for clues. For instance make a list of what you like and what you don’t like. This may include things from your childhood, the foods you like best, your preferences for fashion and your favorite cultures, climate, historical periods and architecture. You should also consider including how you feel about the various skills and talents you have along with your phobias and fears, the traits of your personality, the way you look physically and anything else which plays a big part in your life such as your pets, what you do for a living and those strange déjà vu experiences you have every now and again.
Of course it goes without saying that one shouldn’t overlook the value of dreams with regards to past life experiences. While it’s often taken for granted by many that dreams can provide clues concerning the future, one should realize that the clues we get from dreams can also relate to the present as well as the past. For this reason it is highly recommended that you record your dream as best as you can by writing them down. Another common practice of those in search of knowledge regarding their Past lives, is to suggest to themselves before falling asleep that they wish to recall memories from a past life. If after doing this you have a dream which you can remember, be sure to write down all the details as soon as you wake up.
Past Life Regression Therapy
The International Association for Regression, Research and Therapists, together with the International Association of Past Life Therapists, are both reputable institutes who train and certify professionals in this field and it is highly recommended that you consult with such a professional if at all possible. Not only are they able to guide you through the process of regression, but they are able to help you understand any information you acquire along the way. If you experience any difficulty locating a professional therapist, simply contact one of the above mentioned institutions who will be happy to point you in the right direction.
Meditation
Meditation is another method of exploring your past lives. This is a private way of discovering information about past lives and needs discipline when trusting your own instincts and feelings about received information.
During meditation it is normal to feel as though you are daydreaming and images will be flowing in and out of your mind whilst valuable details come through at the same time. Make a note of what you experience and then look through your notes later on. Your mind will pick up on what you tell it to; just at it will not pick up on anything at all if your approach is negative.
There are various forms of stimulation which people find to be beneficial for meditation and while some prefer silence, others prefer visual or audio stimulation. Such stimulation could for example include listening to soothing sounds such as the sound of the sea. Likewise, visual stimulation could include staring at the flickering flame of a candle or even the dancing flames of a slow burning fire.
A relatively new development using sound technology has been shown to have very promising results. This therapy known as “binaural beats” is performed by playing sound waves in each ear but with slight variations in the frequencies. Current studies tend to suggest that a feeling of deep relaxation is instantly experienced, similar to that which is experience by Zen monk when they meditate.
Irrespective of which method suits you best, have a quiet and peaceful surrounding is of utmost importance.
Your top priority is to be in a relaxed position while maintaining an open and receptive state of mind. Furthermore, don’t expect or hope for anything more that a feeling of deep relaxation. In most cases you’ll experience an abundance of thoughts attempting to interrupt your session but with a little practice, you’ll soon learn how to handle this effectively, simply by acknowledging them and then allowing them to pass by. Likewise, many questions will keep coming to mind as well but here again, simply address them and them put them aside. Once you achieve a suitable state of mind, the answers to the questions you have will come to you and in the vast majority of cases, they’ll come to you when you’re least expecting them to.
The images you receive will help you resolve something in your life, and that is what is important whatever your belief in reincarnation. It may not always be possible to prove that these images really are from a previous life, although many people do get enough information to actually research and verify names, places and events.
Another thing often discovered is that those close to you now also played a part in your previous life, although the relationship may well be different. For instance, your father in your present life may have been your brother previously.
Perhaps you believe in reincarnation and perhaps you don’t but the fact remains, irrespective of what you believe, transgression is most often very helpful and certainly, extremely interesting.
