Hale Dwoskin, the bestselling author of The Sedona Method, is the CEO and Director of Training of Sedona Training Associates, an international speaker and featured faculty member at Esalen and the Omega Institute – and one of the law of attraction teachers from The Secret.
Life and Career
In 1976 Hale Dwoskin met his mentor-to-be, Lester Levenson, a man with a remarkable history: given two weeks to live by his doctors, Lester intuited a way to let go of all limitations and lived forty more years.
In his own words, Hale Dwoskin was at one time “an ardent, although confused, seeker who had gone to numerous seminars led by teachers from both the East and the West. [He] had studied various body-centered disciplines, including yoga, tai chi, and shiatsu. [He] had actively participated in numerous personal growth courses, including EST, Actualism, Theta Seminars, and Rebirthing. At these seminars, [he] had many nice experiences and heard and understood—at least intellectually—many useful concepts.”
But he felt incomplete, still looking for a simple answer to life’s questions. Then, at a seminar, he met Lester:
Lester’s presence immediately struck me as unique. He was in total peace and equal-mindedness, very comfortable with himself. He was unassuming and easy to talk to and treated everyone as his friend—even me, a complete stranger. It was obvious that he’d ended his search by discovering the answers I’d been seeking. I knew I had to find out more.
Lester invited him to a seminar where “a group of people is going to sit around a table and release.” In spite of his skepticism, as the seminar unfolded, Hale watched himself and other people in the class shedding long-held beliefs and limitations with amazing ease and speed – and Hale understood that he found what he was looking for. He started working with Lester on sharing his teachings with the world as a volunteer.
In the meantime, Dwoskin started his own business selling jewelry, which allowed him to work part-time while exploring life and his “releasing” full-time. In 1981 he started leading workshops for Sedona Method graduates on a regular basis in New York City. He continued to participate in the world of business, through his father’s company and later through a firm in Manhattan that sold co-ops and condominiums, but he also used the Method to support his sales ability and became one of their top salespeople.
Dwoskin attributes his success in business to this Levenson’s statement:
Even the impossible becomes completely possible when you are fully released on it.
In 1989 Dwoskin met his wife, Amy. Here’s how he explains their relationship:
Today, Amy and I have a beautiful, loving relationship, but it wasn’t always that way. It was tough in the beginning. Honestly, Amy was interested in other men at the time we met, so I had to do a lot of releasing for her finally to pick me. Once we married, we still had our disagreements—which of course still happens, that’s only natural. But because we both use the Sedona Method, when something happens that causes an upset, we let it go.
In 1996, Hale and Amy founded their own company, Sedona Training Associates, to continue fulfilling Levenson’s wish to share the practical and powerful methods he discovered for removing an individual’s personal blocks to abundance, health, happiness, and success.
Teachings and Philosophy
Hale Dwoskin’s teachings are based on Levinson’s Sedona Method, which is a simple and effective process that shows us how to tap our natural ability to let go of that which prevents us from being fully present in our lives.
Our thoughts and our emotions often can create discomfort, and even make us feel bad or depressed. The Sedona Method teaches how to make positive changes in our life with this simple process of releasing the underlying emotions that rob us of abundance and joy: our fear and anxiety then simply disappear.
The official website explains the Sedona Method as the method that “consists of a series of questions you ask yourself that lead your awareness to what you are feeling in the moment and gently guide you into the experience of letting go.” The Method is based on the power of feelings: if you feel powerful, you act powerfully, but also, when you feel sad or angry, you act sad, or angry.
The Sedona Method teaches that feelings are not who we are, and that we can easily let them go, which frees us to perceive what is actually here, and to act, or refrain from acting, accordingly. “When an unwanted feeling comes up, you release it. That’s it. With the limiting feeling out of the way, you are free to create any result you desire, whenever you want” – and that’s the basis of this powerul method that helped many people to quickly shift their state of consciousness from stress and resistance to relaxation and allowance.”

The only reason we want to understand our problems is because we are planning to have them again.
Release your wanting and allow yourself to have.
So if you’re anti-war, be pro-peace. If you’re anti-hunger, be pro people having more than enough to eat. If you are anti- a particular politician, be pro- his opponent. Often elections are tipped in the favor of the person that the people are really against, because he is getting all the energy and all the focus.
If you feel stuck, either let go of wanting to change it or allow yourself to feel the way you do. Either one will help dissolve the feeling of stuckness.
In the video below, Hale Dwoskin discusses the importance of letting go:
